The KATY project’s first breakthrough was published in Cancer Immunology Research, a top-tier journal with an impact factor of 12.02 and ranked in the top 10% of the Scimago Journal Ranking. In their paper titled “The Immunopeptidome from a Genomic Perspective,” a team of researchers, including LASIGE’s integrated member Cátia Pesquita, developed an open-source bioinformatics pipeline to identify potential targets for cancer immunotherapy and vaccines, resulting in the discovery of 17 peptides with clinical potential and low toxicity. These findings offer promising prospects for innovative cancer treatments.
