The EU H2020 SEEDS’ project official kick-off started today, March 15, 2021, with a virtual meeting attended by Naercio Magaia, Principal Investigator of the LASIGE team, and António Casimiro, both LASIGE integrated researchers.

“SEEDS: A holistic design of secure vehicular networks: communications, data caching and blockchain services”, sets an ambitious research agenda to exploit the potentials of vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications, data caching, and blockchain services fully for revolutionizing the security of vehicular networks. With the rapid deployment of 5G and the recent development of connected vehicles, Cyber Security has been gaining increasing importance to the connected systems that are fundamental to our society, health, and welfare. It aims to accelerate the transfer and deployment of research knowledge in order to realize a cross-layer design of reliable and robust security for V2X networks and meet the challenging security requirements, that is, identifiability, authentication, confidentiality, and scalability.

This project involves 4 countries: the United Kingdom, Portugal, Singapore, and China, and entities from academia: University of Sussex (UK, coordinator), University of Manchester (UK), FCiências.ID/LASIGE (PT), Nanyang Technological University (SG), Beihang University (CN), Tsinghua University (CN).
