FCT announces results for the 2021 Call for Project Grants in all Scientific Domains

FCT announced last Wednesday, July 28, the results of the 2021 Call for IC&DT Projects in all scientific domains to all applicants. 551 projects were selected for funding, of which 246 were Scientific Research and Technological Development projects (IC&DT projects) and 305 were Exploratory Research projects (PeX projects). Of these, only 17 projects concerned the Computer Science research area, with 7 IC&DT projects and 10 PeX projects approved.

LASIGE had 2 PeX projects selected for funding and participates in a IC&DT project approved project led by another research unit.

Overall, both considering proposals and participations, the unit’s achievement is 3.8% for IC&DT and 40% for PeX projects. This last rate is higher than the success rate of all of the admitted computer science PeX applications which is 27.8%. The success rate for the computer science IC&DT applications admitted in the call is 5%.

LASIGE’s PeX projects approved for funding are:

  • RAP – Resource Aware Programming (EXPL/CCI-COM/1306/2021) – PI: Alcides Fonseca; Co-PI: Francisco Martins;
  • DL-CADET – Deep multimodal Learning for breast CAncer DETection (EXPL/CCI-COM/0656/2021) – PI: Nuno Garcia.

The approved IC&DT project in which LASIGE participates is:

  • DACOMICO – Data Consistency in Microservices Compositions (PTDC/CCI-COM/2156/2021) – Luís  Rodrigues (INESC-ID/INESC/IST/ULisboa); LASIGE participants: Antónia Lopes and Alcides Fonseca.
