The Web4All (W4A’20) conference, originally scheduled to take place in Taipei, Taiwan, was a very successful online event.

The conference, organised by Carlos Duarte from LASIGE and Ted Drake from Intuit, consisted of 6 technical sessions, 2 keynotes, a demonstrations session and a doctoral consortium.

W4A focuses on Web Accessibility. The theme for this year was Automation for Accessibility with several papers and keynotes addressing different aspects of how automated solutions (e.g. Machine Learning powered) can contribute to improve the accessibility on the Web, but also discussing the new challenges raised by the same solutions.

There were also two papers presented by Carlos Duarte reporting on work that is being conducted in LASIGE:

– Analysis of Automated Contrast Checking Tools, by Rafael Almeida and Carlos Duarte.

– Comparing Accessibility Evaluation Plug-ins, by Tânia Frazão and Carlos Duarte.

The conference proceedings, published by ACM, are already available online.
