Second Intensive Study Programme in Information Security at Lisbon 2016

ParIS ISP at Lisbon, Portugal, has just started.

The second Intensive Study Programme in Information Security, within the framework of the Erasmus + strategic partnership ParIS (Partnership in Information Security), has started today, April 11,2016, bringing together students from three and lecturers from four different countries.

A total of 28 students from the University of Lisbon’s Faculty of Science, Warsaw University of Technology and the University of Luxembourg, started one joint week of lectures around the topic of information security, that will be held by faculty from the three above-mentioned partner universities as well as the National Technical University of Ukraine – Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.

The course lectures are focused on topics such fault and intrusion tolerance, spaces of conlict and digital forensics, distance bounding protocols, cryptography, modern malware, searchable encryption schemes, critical infrastructures protection, individual and group anonymity, multimedia data protection and digital steganography techniques.

As in the first edition that occurred in Luxembourg, in April 2015, the participants of the course are mainly Master students, but two PhD students are also taking part in the programme.

Besides the course, the students are also invited to a bus guided tour around the historic area of Belém in Lisbon as well as to the fabulous city of Sintra.
