LASIGE’s integrated member Nuno Cruz was awarded 1st place in the António Gameiro Award. The award is in its 22nd edition and was created by the Portuguese Order of Technical Engineers (OET) to promote and enhance the careers of Technical Engineers and Engineers who distinguish themselves among their peers, being the protagonists of a technical-scientific intervention, particularly relevant in the national and international panorama.

The award recognises the researcher’s endeavours to put knowledge at the service of society, whether through technology transfer projects for public bodies, applied research in partnership with industry, or scientific dissemination. The award ceremony will take place in November.

Nuno Cruz supervised an MSc dissertation that the OET also awarded. The thesis “Resilient routing system for critical services over public mobile networks” granted its author Carlos Rodrigues 3rd in the Hélder Pita Award. This is a new award by the OET, created to distinguish final-year students or recent graduates for their scientific work or final project’s excellence and relevance in the national/international scene.
