LASIGE PhD student accepted into the CMU Portugal Dual Degree PhD Program

Paulo Santos has been accepted into the Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) Portugal Dual Degree PhD Program. The Program, funded by Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT), comprises a 5-year journey beginning in September 2021, split into up to 2 years at CMU and up to 3 years at FCUL/LASIGE.
Paulo Santos research work is in the scope of the Reliable Software Systems and Data and Systems Intelligence lines. His FCUL supervisors are Alcides Fonseca and Sara Silva, and his CMU supervisor is Christopher S. Timperley.
This year, the CMU Portugal Program welcomed eleven new students to its Dual Degree PhD. Programs. The candidates were selected by a committee of faculty members from Portuguese Universities and Carnegie Mellon University. The acceptance rate to this programme was 12,3%.
So far, 144 enrolled have enrolled at one of CMU Portugal dual degree PhD Programs. Of these, 81 have successfully graduated. The current number of CMU Portugal active students is 39.
