LASIGE develops W3C’s List of Courses on Digital Accessibility

Date: 17/10/2022

A team of LASIGE researchers composed of Letícia Seixas Pereira and Carlos Duarte have completed the development of the Course List on Digital Accessibility Education, Training, and Certification. This new resource has been published by the W3C’s Web Accessibility Initiative and has been developed as part of the EU-funded WAI-CooP project. The Course List is online since September 2022 and, currently, has received more than 70 submissions. The unavailability of a centralized resource with information about available training and certification offers on digital accessibility had been a recognized limitation for some time. The effort of the LASIGE’s team has made it possible to overcome this limitation.

The Digital Accessibility Course List gathers information about any education, training or certification offers that are related to digital accessibility. Offers included can be from anywhere in the world and in any language, can be paid or free, can be delivered online, in person, or hybrid and teaching activities can be synchronous or asynchronous. All offers also need to specify how accessible they are. The LASIGE team is still involved in the work, being responsible for curating the submissions to the list, by checking the accuracy of the provided information.
