CPS and RDNS meetup: André Cruz

Title: Hardware-Backed Blockchain
Speakers: André Cruz, LASIGE – DI/FCUL
When: April 7, 14h00
Where: C6.3.27

Abstract: Nowadays, due to the high costs of having their own data centers, most distributed systems use Cloud platforms for execution. However, due to the way they are developed, they do not provide information integrity or privacy. Thus, developing solutions that can guarantee this integrity and privacy becomes essential. Using Intel processors, it is possible to develop a distributed solution where each replica has access to its own Enclave SGX, which can be used for secure and reliable computing.

Short bio: André Cruz is a Master’s student currently developing his dissertation in the area of Distributed Systems, supervised by Professor Bernardo Ferreira. His main interests are software development and distributed systems, along with information security and privacy.
