ITEA4 Project “I2DT – Intelligent Interoperable Digital Twins” started on November 2024

Date: 05/12/2024

LASIGE participates in the ITEA4 project “Intelligent Interoperable Digital Twins” (I2DT), which started on November 1, 2024. The project is coordinated by the RISE – Research institutes of Sweden, and joins 14 partners from 6 countries (Canada, Portugal, Republic of Korea, Spain, Sweden, and Turkiye) and from academia and industrial sector – Emtech Group, QA Consultants, SkyForest, Ciências ULisboa, WinTrust, VisionWare, CIP Systems, ETRI, Panel Sistemas, University of Madrid Carlos III, RISE, ARD Group, KoçSistem, Presify Analitik Yazılım.

The project budget totals € 8 310 740,00, of which approximately 2,2 million euros will be distributed between the Portuguese stakeholders.

Ibéria Medeiros coordinates the LASIGE team, which leads the work package of cybersecurity, entitled “Ensuring Cybersecurity and Privacy of I2DT”, and the task associated with software vulnerabilities – “I2DT software validation by vulnerability identification and correction”.

The I2DT project aims to create an interoperability framework, methodology and tool support for constructing digital twins that can reflect complex systems with large-scale heterogeneous data and interactions. The project will address core technologies and application domains of interoperable digital twins and apply them to relevant areas like industrial production, smart cities, infrastructure asset management, wildfire protection and renewable energy resources. The project will also advance model-based development, integrate machine learning components, define a unified reference architecture and provide tool support for both engineering and operating digital twins, including their security and data privacy.
