Carlos Duarte discusses Accessibility Testing at the CMS Unconference 2021

Carlos Duarte presented “Harmonizing Accessibility Testing” at the Open Web Lounge CMS Unconference on November 12, 2021. The LASIGE integrated researcher, in his role of Co-Chair of the W3C ACT Rules Community Group, was invited to speak about the more recent efforts towards developing and establishing consistent accessibility testing tools and methodologies.

The CMS Unconference 2021, held online, is an event organized by the CMS Garden, an international organization based in Berlin. The CMS Garden brings together institutions and individuals that work with and develop content management systems. The yearly conference discusses topics such as accessibility or security of CMS.

In his talk, Carlos Duarte highlighted the importance of developing content in an accessible manner, presented the ACT rules as a way to ensure consistent accessibility testing, and introduced the role of Test Rules in the upcoming WCAG 2.2 specification.
